Job#3458 Professional Services Engineer, Network Security, East Coast Virtual Our client, a provider of Information Security solutions and professional services is seeking several Virtual Professional Services Engineers for various metropolitan areas on the East Coast, including the metropolitan NY-NJ area, as well as New England, Boston, DC, Philadelphia The Carolinas and Atlanta. (Candidate must live within an hour of a major East coast airport. Scope of Role Reporting directly to the VP of Professional Services, the primary role of the Professional Services Engineer is to provide technical direction and support for the firms Sales team as well as being a part of a work team involved in the planning, organizing, and deployment of information security projects . This position is highly visible and customer facing. The incumbent must be a professional who is self-motivated, possesses excellent organizational and communication skills and has demonstrated ability in working effectively with sales and engineering teams. Responsibilities Providing technical solutions centered around our clients Information Security products and services. Working as part of the classic virtual sales team, representing a technical agenda. Scoping of projects, designing network solutions, and preparing detailed statements of work for customers. Developing internal and external sales and client documentation. Continuing development of technical skills for core and emerging products and technologies. Performs engineering assignments as part of a work team involved in the planning, organizing, and deploying information security projects. May supervise other project professionals or technicians. Be technically adept and professional with excellent customer service and communication skills. Other responsibilities include professional development and certification, mentoring and training junior engineers and improving overall customer relations through technical delivery and communications skills Education, Experience and Skills Requirements The ideal candidate will be confident, self-motivated, detail oriented and must be able to work independently as well as a part of a team and have the following skills/experience: Minimum of 7 years experience in Internet security technologies. A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or related field of study, or equivalent experience. Experience in a fast paced distributed environment is desirable Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills. Work with the sales team introducing solutions and services, customizing solutions for clients business and IT requirements, and assisting in identifying opportunities for up-sell and cross-sell. Serve as consultative, trusted advisor to clients on technical matters. Responding to RFP and RFI requests. Demonstrated security and networking background: Phishing, malware, social engineering, beaconing, DLP, PII, firewalls, routers, proxies, RIP, OSPF, BGP are all concepts you will be comfortable discussing "Strong Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6, NAT, infrastructure and transport protocols, VoIP, multicast, wireless" In-depth knowledge of technologies related to TCP/IP data protocols, IP routing and switching. Advanced understanding of DPI concepts a plus. Security vendor specific certifications and/or experience a plus Participating in educational opportunities in order to remain current on the firms solutions, as well as industry news and trends. The ability to interact directly with sales peoples, sales engineers, and senior customer representatives to develop solutions value propositions Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the assigned geographical region. Develop and/or present in front of technical, non-technical, and executive audiences. Work with the training department, bringing partners up-to date as required. Lead local customer trainings. Must have valid drivers license. The ideal candidate should have the majority (having all a major plus) of the following items. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field Experience in network security products such as: firewalls, VPN, SSL, network access control (NAC), intrusion detection or prevention systems (IDS/IPS) CCNP or JNCIE Certification is preferred. Check Point CCSA/CCSE certification or equivalent work experience Juniper JNCIA level certification or equivalent work experience Bluecoat certified engineer or equivalent work experience CISA and/or CISSP Certification or obtained within the first 12 months of hire.
