INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLS ENGINEER Typical Responsibilities: Will provide assistance to projects to address technical issues related to work process improvement. Will develop training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions as appropriate. Will create and maintain a positive working relationship with Chief Discipline Engineer, Supervising Discipline Engineer and project team. Will create and maintain productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university. 10+ years of professional experience within a discipline or specialty. Experience with I&C engineering and design on the North Slope of Alaska required Upstream Oil & Gas industry experience Experience in performing and checking I&C calculations and studies Experience with FEED development Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required. Leads various size groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists. Uses data supplied by the Principal Engineers and/or the Supervising Discipline Engineers to prepare a basic outline of work to be completed and establishes a schedule compatible with project goals and budgets. Candidate must have an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge within the I&C discipline and a strong understanding of the other disciplines. Provides support for proposals and understands the business development process Candidate must have a full understanding of the needs of Construction. Must be fully versed in procurement activities associated with I&C equipment (i.e., specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor documentation reviews, factory acceptance testing). Performs material take off's Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management. Has basic knowledge of discipline manpower loading. Fully understands the planning and scheduling of I&C engineering and design tasks. Understands the project change control process Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Relocation benefits are not available for this position. Professional Engineering License preferred.
