This role will be responsible for implementing and executing our products release processes and will be assisting the release team which supports various teams including the development and testing teams. Additionally, this role will be responsible for working with the configuration management, build and release activities, ensuring sound code deployment processes, coordinating code releases across the application.? ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The SCM Engineer will be required to support and augment an existing, functioning suite of ALM tools, as well as be the authority on application build, branch and merge strategies. As such, the role is technical and hands-on. Working with multiple teams that are often competing for resources, against challenging schedules will be the norm. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Build and maintain a SCM infrastructure for a multi-site development team including source code repository, build tools and scripts, continuous integration infrastructure and packaging and deployment tools. QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ Years in modern SCM methodologies and tools 5+ years of related experience in technology in large enterprise environment BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or other technical field. Extensive experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management. Strong familiarity with ALM solutions (MKS, Serena, VSTS, etc). MKS experience highly desired. Experience with source code management tools (CVS, Subversion, etc) Experience configuring build automation tools (Ant, TeamCity, Hudson, Maven, etc) Ant experience highly desired. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and ensure tasks are completed on schedule Ability to work well with developers, test engineers, and non-engineering personnel.
