GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for the analysis, installation, performance monitoring, capacity planning, modification and support of Large Scale Enterprise Storage Arrays for Fifth Third Bank. Function in Lead Engineering role in the research and implementation of new technologies and their potential match to business solutions. Follows corporate standards to implement storage and backup solutions supporting UNIX, VMware, and Windows systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain storage systems performance by pro-active monitoring, trending, and utilization of storage systems resources. • Maintain system reliability and availability by managing system updates and patches. • Function as a technical expert in problem resolution for storage infrastructure hardware and software issues. • Assist with the design and management of the physical and logical configuration of all systems storage. • Plays a key role as an individual contributor on projects of a moderate to high level of complexity. • Perform a lead role in the development, planning, preparation and ongoing disaster recovery readiness. • Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements and qualifications. • Work closely with other IT departmental staff, Network, NOC, Facilities, Systems Engineering to coordinate efforts and maintain high level of customer satisfaction – both internal and external. • Responsible for systems performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 27 hr/day and/or 7-day/week coverage. • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
