We have an immediate need for an ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Job Description: CDI Corporation is working with a world leader in the manufacture of Aerospace systems to find a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. POSITION SUMMARY: Experienced electrical design engineer to lead the electronic design and development of sensor product lines in the vibration and underwater acoustic markets. RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the design process of new products. This will include requirements set by customer specifications, testing and evaluation of prototypes, pilot runs and documentation. The candidate will coordinate projects and tasks with the Director of R&D or the Product Engineering Manager to complete assignments on schedule. The candidate will provide support to Production in the manufacturing of existing products and the transfer of new designs from the R&D department into Production. The candidate will provide technical support to our Sales and Marketing department and customers. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Background Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years experience in electronics design with emphasis on mixed signal sensor design and development Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining a US Secret Security Clearance Experience in one or more of the following areas: Product development related to vibration sensing market Low power embedded analog electronics and mixed signal design in the audio range Low noise system modeling and development in mixed signal environments Schematic capture and PCB layout for analog and mixed circuits (using Altium, Orcad, P-spice, Multisim) System performance modeling (Matlab, Mathcad) Underwater acoustics systems and transducers such as towed arrays or hydrophones a plus ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Reports to: Director of Research and Development 3 Advises, consults and coordinates with: R&D, Product Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality Control, Purchasing and Material Control.
